Critical Illness Insurance - Policy pays a lump sum benefit if the insured is diagnosed with a covered critical illness in each of two categories (three categories with the Cancer Rider). Category One includes benefits in the event of a heart attack, stroke, heart transplant, by-pass surgery, and others. Category Two includes benefits in the event of major organ transplant other than heart, end stage renal failure, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and paralysis not as a result of stroke. If selected, the Critical Illness Cancer Rider pays a lump sum benefit in the event of a covered cancer diagnosis. Policy continues in force until full benefits are paid in all categories, as long as premium payments continue.
